(Jim Gentile and Gus Triandos - Baltimore Orioles) On May 9, 1962, Baltimore Orioles first basemen ‘Diamond’ Jim Gentile hit a grand slam in two consecutive innings, becoming the first player in history to manage this feat.  This was Gentile's second full season in Major League Baseball, and what a season it was for the young ball player. During the 1962 season, Gentile hit .302 with a .423 on base percentage.
